The problem with relying on the Wrong Body narrative is that it fools us into thinking there is a right body and that corrective action is the only permissible action. Having agency over ones body, access to medical treatment, and in the absence of diagnosis is a brand new phenomena and one that I am lucky enough to be privy to; genderqueer by design rather than diagnosis, if you will.
I do not rely on the politics of the wrong body. I do not attempt to correct my physical being but rather aspire to further queerness, accessing technology to intentionally mutate my body in a way to reclaim what has been for so long eradicated by those very same systems of science and technology. My aim is to carve out a queer representation somewhere outside the current permissible borders of gender. By doing so I hope to point out the permeability in our gender constructions and cause panic among those who so tightly police the borders. This is terrorist trans- I am the intentional monster and I unapologetically walk among you.
